Vanadium belongs to Block D, Period 4 while oxygen belongs to Block P, Period 2 of the periodic table.

Applications:
Vanadium oxide is used extensively as a catalyst in many industrial chemical reactions. It is also used in the following applications:

• In the manufacture of some alloys and ceramics
